Thin film solar + solid state lithium ion battery
Bolloré Group and its Bluecar company have huge market and technological advantages in new energy vehicle manufacturing, car sharing, especially solid-state lithium-ion batteries. Therefore, the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two parties is likely to be closely related to Hanergy’s mobile energy strategy.
A few days ago, “Securities Daily” learned that Donghan New Energy Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hanergy Mobile Energy Holding Group Co., Ltd., and Bluecar, a subsidiary of France’s Bolloré Group (BOLLOREGROUP), held a strategic cooperation framework agreement signing ceremony in Beijing.
As Hanergy has been working hard to promote the application of thin-film solar products in automotive energy supply, Bolloré Group and its subsidiary Bluecar have a huge market and technology in new energy vehicle manufacturing, car sharing, especially solid-state lithium-ion batteries. Advantage. Therefore, the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two parties is likely to be closely related to Hanergy’s mobile energy strategy.
On July 30th, Wang Xin, general manager of Donghan New Energy Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., in response to this cooperation, he made it clear, “Both Hanergy and Bolloré believe that there is a huge opportunity for the creation of thin-film solar + solid-state lithium-ion batteries. A new type of’electric vehicle powertrain’ has been developed.”
According to Wang Xin, according to Hanergy’s current design method, the thin film product used in automobiles is a double-junction gallium arsenide battery, and its current photoelectric conversion efficiency has reached 31.6%.
From this calculation, if a car can use a 5 square meter area to install a thin-film solar system, then 5 square meters will generate 1.58 kilowatt-hours of electricity per hour. If it can be lighted for 5 hours a day, this system can generate 8 degrees of electricity per day. . According to the calculation that 1 kilowatt-hour of electricity can support a lightweight car to travel 10 kilometers in the future, in theory, only with solar energy, under certain light conditions, a car can travel 80 kilometers a day.
“But in order to truly meet the requirements of long-distance car travel in a short time, we need a battery with advanced technology and high energy density.” Wang Xin believes that “Bololey’s solid-state lithium-ion battery may be the best choice at present. ”
Public information shows that Bolloré Group has been cultivating solid-state lithium-ion batteries for 20 years, and its current advantages are mainly focused on safety (continued in practical applications), no attenuation, and huge energy density potential.
“Bolloré’s solid-state lithium-ion battery has been mass-produced in 2011 for seven years. Because there is no “thermal runaway”, there has not been any burning accident.” Wang Xin said, “We are even confident that electric vehicles will be realized in the future. Only plug in once a month to three months to meet the needs of long-distance travel and greatly reduce people’s anxiety about mileage and charging when using electric vehicles. Therefore, we also have a layout in the field of solar charging and swapping for electric vehicles.”
Public information shows that as early as 2014 at the first batch of Tesla users in Beijing, Tesla announced two solar charging station systems for electric vehicles designed and manufactured by Hanergy according to Tesla’s needs. .
It is understood that Bolloré Group is a family company with a long history of more than 190 years. In 2017, it achieved revenue of 20 billion euros and net profit of 5 billion euros. It currently employs 58,000 employees in 143 countries. And Bluecar, a subsidiary of the Bolloré Group, operates tens of thousands of electric vehicles.
At the same time, “Bololey is also a very innovative company. As early as 2008, they put forward the goal of reducing the weight of the car to less than 1 ton.” Wang Xin said.
According to a reporter from “Securities Daily”, among the precedents of Bolloré’s cooperation with Chinese companies, in addition to the aforementioned cooperation agreement with Hanergy, there is only one with Alibaba.
Bolloré Group revealed that its global cooperation agreement with Alibaba will involve cloud computing services, clean energy, logistics, and other areas such as new digital technology and innovation.
