Lithium battery protection and new battery charging methods

Maintain a new battery charging method

Electric vehicles are becoming more and more sophisticated and intelligent. The research and development and manufacturing technology of electric vehicles continue to advance, and the manufacturing technology of electric vehicles is becoming more and more mature. When lithium batteries for electric bicycles become popular in the market, many people are not very clear about the charging method of lithium batteries for electric vehicles. I don’t know how to maintain it. Today, I will introduce the maintenance of lithium electric vehicles and new battery charging methods.

1. New battery charging method

Lithium battery activation is an old topic. A large part of customers believe that the demand for battery activation is large. Almost all salespeople say that the first three times are full 12 hours, obviously from the vertical direction of nickel batteries (such as nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride). Down. It can be said that this view was distorted from the beginning. The charging and discharging characteristics of lithium batteries are very different from nickel batteries. Obviously, all the serious and formal technical literature I have read emphasized that overcharge and overdischarge can cause great damage to lithium batteries, especially liquid batteries.

Do you want to activate the battery? Answer me, yes, it is necessary to activate! However, the process is terminated by the manufacturer, not by the user, and the user has no ability to terminate. The actual activation process is as follows: Lithium battery, the lithium battery shell is sealed infusion liquid electrolyte, which is charged at constant voltage and then discharged. In such a few cycles, the electrode penetrates the rich activation energy of the electrolyte until it meets the requirement of suspending ability. It is the content of the activation process. It is also said that after they left, the lithium battery has been activated by the user. In addition, at the same time, the activation process of some batteries requires the battery to be turned on and sealed. Unless you have battery production equipment, how to end it? The battery will go from the factory and then sold to the user. It will take a period of time, a month or a few. Months, therefore, the electrode material of the battery will be passivated, it is recommended to use the battery manual for the first time I have the best three thorough filling process, in order to speed up the elimination of passivation, the electrode material can be realized most effectively. But this does not take 12 hours. It should stop many times. Passivation can also be eliminated after normal use for a period of time. Therefore, the user is not a special method and device in the activation process of the new lithium battery.

In addition, when the battery is fully charged, the lithium battery or charger will automatically stop charging. No nickel charger can last more than 10 hours. In other words, if your lithium battery is fully charged, it will not be charged in the charger. We cannot guarantee that the characteristics of the charge and discharge protection circuit will never change, so your battery is likely to be on the verge of danger for a long time. This is another reason for opposing long-term fees. On some machines, it is assumed that the charger will not be removed after charging for a period of time. At this point, the system will not only stop charging, but also start a charge-discharge cycle. Manufacturers may have their own plans, but this is obviously bad news for battery life. At the same time, the demand for long-term charging takes a long time, and the demand is often carried out at night. However, judging from the situation of my country’s power grid, the night voltage in many places is relatively high and fluctuates greatly. Nevertheless, lithium batteries are very fragile, and their ability to withstand fluctuations in charge and discharge is far inferior to nickel batteries, so there are additional risks.

2, charge should be started during normal use

Since the amount of charge and discharge is limited, lithium batteries should use as little energy as possible when charging. But I found a lithium battery charge and discharge cycle test table, the cycle life data is as follows: cycle life (10%DOD):>1000 cycle life (100%DOD):>200 cycles, where DOD is the abbreviation of depth of discharge. It can be seen from the table that the charging time is related to the depth of discharge, and the cycle life of 10% DOD is much longer than that of 100% DOD. Of course, it is assumed that the actual charge reduction is related to the total capacity: *1000*200=200=100100%, 10% after the charge is completed.
